Yesterday, Saturday, the Stars Welfare Society team visited the street slums near the old city bridge.

As soon as we arrived, a group of excited children came running towards us, calling our names and holding our hands. We sat with them on the roadside, laughing, chatting, and listening to their little stories. Their innocent smiles and tight hugs reminded us why we do this work. These families are not only struggling with poverty but often come from deeply dysfunctional and broken homes, many headed by single parents who carry immense burdens alone.

We distributed ration kits filled with rice, dal, oil, and vegetables. enough to bring relief to their families for several days. The children’s eyes sparkled as we handed out new clothes; many immediately tried them on and twirled around in joy. What touched us most was the personal connection, the mothers’ grateful tears, the children’s drawings they gifted us, and the warm conversations that made us feel like one big family. In just a few hours, we touched over ten families, but more importantly, we carried back with us their love and hope. This is not just charity. This is family. Turning Scars into Stars.
